Tuesday 10-10 Great Things About Texas

Being a true Texas girl born and raised, I decided to do today's Tuesday 10 on just that!

1.THE PEOPLE. This is probably my top reason that Texas is great! I lived in Las Vegas very briefly and learned to appreciate the southern hospitality even more. Whether it is people holding doors open for you, a smile from a stranger, a hug from someone you just met or making friends with a complete stranger in Target(oh yes i have done that), people here are genuinely caring and thoughtful.

2. THE SHOPPING. I love love love to shop, although I don't know too many girls who don't love it, Texas has some awesome shopping. From the Galleria in Houston, to Fredricksberg, to The Stockyards in Ft. Worth and Market Square in San Antonio. No matter what you are looking for you are sure to find it, and if you are a Turquoise Fan like myself The Stockyards are definitely your best bet!
3. TEXAS PRIDE. You would be hard pressed to find a Texan or Native Texan who doesn't light up when they talk about Texas :) I would highly doubt there are any other states who display their flag and heritage as proudly. So many people are so proud to be a Texan they even tattoo it on themselves(not innocent little me though :P). 4.THE FOOD. You can find every kind of cuisine here : Good Old Fashion Country Cookin, Amazing Steaks, The Best Mexican Food, Seafood, Italian, Sushi....you name it we have it...and it is all sooo good. There is also the fact that since many of the founders of Texas were German we have some awesome food like Kolaches...ymmmmm. 5. RODEO. Not only do we have the biggest paying rodeo in North America right here in Houston, but there are tons of rodeos all over the place. They are all so much fun and you can feel the excitement in the air as soon as you walk onto the grounds! 6. THE SCENERY I absolutely love driving through the Texas Hill Country. It is so relaxing to me to see all the gorgeous rolling hills and open plains that you see outside of all the "Big Cities" 7. NEW BRAUNFELS has so much to do and see. You can go camping, go tubing down the river(my personal favorite) or go to Schlitterbahn Water park. If shopping is more your thing you can head to Gruene, and while you're there be sure to check out The Gristmill! If live music is more your thing then you should definitely check out Gruene Hall or River Road Icehouse.

8. SPORTS. I love to watch baseball and football especially going to the games. Even when we have some not so great seasons we are true fans tailgating and cheering our hearts out!
9. THE WEATHER. Although humidity is not great for anyone's hair I absolutely hate cold weather so South Texas is the best place for me! On a cold week we might have 4 cold days in a row followed by days in the 70's. We can usually start laying out and going to the beach in late March and can still have pool partie's up through the first part of October! I love warm weather so the more warm days I can get the better!

10. MUSIC. Some of the best songs you will ever hear are from our Texas Singer/Songwriters! There is not a weekend that you can't find a concert or two and the crowd is always a blast. If you are new to Texas Country then I definitely reccomend Eli Young Band and Aaron Watson.

I'm sure I could come up with 1,000,000 more reasons why Texas is the Greatest State, but that is my Tuesday 10 for ya!

Fear Factor

In light of Kimmie recently sharing her Bee story, I thought I would share my horrible encounter from a few weekends ago.

For those of you who don't know me, I am crazy, unnaturally, freakshily terrified of roaches. Especially those big freiken tree roaches we have here!

So, a few Saturdays ago Layne got up and left for work around 7. I got up shortly there after and as I groggily walked into the bathroom, there it was, inches from my foot...Roach-zilla! I screamed bloody murder and slammed the bathroom door shut behind me. I then called Layne in tears(oh yes my fear really is that bad) and begged him to come home from work and kill it, he could not come home :(

I kept both doors to the bathroom shut and finally decided that I was going to go get my nails done...because I needed too and I needed to go to the bathroom and was not about to go back in there. After getting my nails done i went and met layne for lunch and then came back to the apartment, talking on my phone i managed to forget about the roach until i walked into the bathroom flicked on the lights and there it was right by the light switch(you can insert any horrible scream you like at this point...it was loud!)

So I shut the door again and decided i needed to do something...i really needed in my bathroom so I grabbed a pair of layne's boots(they cover more of my leg so i felt safer), the broom, and a can of lysol(i discovered we had no bug spray). I then kicked open the door with my boot and jumped back about 10 feet. I attempted to spray him with the lysol, which by the way does not give you very much distance and roach-zilla managed to crawl around the corner of the bathroom wall and go into hiding :( This was B-A-D

I decided that there was nothing i could do...he had taken over my bathroom. I managed to hold it until layne got home, when he was immediately instructed to do his manly duty and go kill the roach. Layne looked all over the bathroom and in the linen closet and ....No roach. Great, my worst fear...he had escaped to somewhere else in the apartment.

So, after much convincing i decide Layne is right, and i am safe to take a shower. I start the water and push the shower curtain back and..... the little S*#$% falls out of the shower curtain! This time it is less than an inch from my foot and I begin screaming and running through the apartment like I am being chased by a serial killer. Layne then kills it and after about 15 minutes of trying to control my breathing i manage to calm down enough to get in the shower.

Ok, ok, you can stop laughing now...i now i am a big baby ;)

Tuesday 10-Pictures From Aaron Watson

This past Friday Layne and I headed to Big Texas South to see Aaron Watson and my Twinkie!!! I was so excited that we were actually going somewhere that was closer to us for once. So, here are 10 of my favorite pictures from Friday!

1. Deb and I at the beginning of the night. She is my Twinkie :) I think this is the first time we have gone out and not been dressed alike...its crazy how often we do it without knowing!
2. Layne and I. He always squishes my face in these pictures...i think he feels the need to lean down and get closer since I am short.
3. Deb and Layne...ok Twinkie just cause we share everything doesn't mean you can share my man! lol :)
4. Since Layne got some Debbie love I figured I needed some too :)
5. Yes I am a poser...and I regularly recruit people to pose with me! Don't believe me? Ask Kimmie, I think I got it from her ;) hehe
6. We took pictures with Aaron after he signed our shirts
7. Here's our shirts! I had to buy two shirts cause i wanted one I could wear without worrying about the signature coming off.
8. Enjoying my drinks. Layne was buying them faster than I could drink them!
9. I caught him :) I vaguely remember hearing something about his back hurting after this pic! haha Please don't ask about my face...i tend to make funny faces when i dance
10. The best for last! This picture is hilarious, Layne and Deb were dancing and it looks like she is running away from him.....Yeah he scares me too sometimes Twinkie...its okay :)

Tagged Again!

I have been tagged by Kimmie! Ok, so here is the 4th photo in my fourth album.

Oh my gosh! haha... This was taken of Layne and I at a joint bachelor/bachelorette party that we went to. It looks like I am talking while he is trying to kiss me but this pic is hilarious!

One thing this picture does remind me of is that this was a Thursday night and then i had to work the next day and be in the wedding that night! That was an exhausting weekend!

Ok, so now i think everyone on my list has done this so..I am tagging anyone who reads this and hasn't done it!

Real OC Addict :)

My name is Brittany and I am a "Real Housewives of Orange County" addict! :)

I don't know how many of you ever watch this show on Bravo but I love it!! I have watched the other "Real Housewives" Seasons but none are as good as these original ladies. I am literally glued to my TV for an hour on Tuesday Nights. These ladies lead such extravagant over-the-top lifestyles and I have no idea why but I can't get enough! Their drama always cracks me up...they fight like girls in high school sometimes. I'm super excited for next week too if anyone else saw the previews for Gretchen's Bad Behavior last night ;) Anyway just thought i would share my favorite show with yall its definitely worth the watch!
